Kids are back to school, summer vacations and patio parties are wrapping up so it's time to put your health back on the priority list! It might not look like it outside at the moment but we are now into fall and are making our transition from outdoor classes to indoors. Our new session begins the week of Oct 4 and all classes will be inside. Check the schedule on the right to find a class that works for you.
Congratulations to eveyone who participated in the Summer Fit Test Challenge. We are proud to announce that Tara M was the winner with the largest percentage change. Way to go Tara!! She has received a gift basket full of great stuff including a gift certificate to Planet Organic.
We truly have the BEST clients in the city and we are so proud of all of you – you are the ones who make us love what we do! Our doors are always open and we love hearing from you. 3rd Annual Charity Boot Camp
Thank you to everyone who came out for the 3rd Annual Fired Up Fitness Charity Boot Camp in support of the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful morning, a great workout and yummy snacks, but the best part is we raised $760 for a worthy charity. Thanks again to all, we look forward to next year!!

Leading Children Out Of A Sedentary Existence
Rising physical inactivity in children and youth has alarmed the global community. The stats, the recommentations, the alarming fears among educators, researchers, parents and even the youth themselves are surfacing eveywhere. As leaders in the fitness industry, Carmen Moxham and Lauren Whitfield, owners of Fired Up Fitness have now been certified as Ever Active Kids Facilitators through Ever Active Schools. It is our goal to get children motivated and active. We are currently in the process of developing fun and effective fitness programs for children and youth. Announcements regarding these upcoming programs are to come. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us if you have any questions regarding this exciting direction for Fired Up Fitness.

Move of the Month
(A) Get into push up position, your arms directly under your shoulders and your body forming a straight line from your head to you heels. Brace your abs and hold the position for 30 seconds.
(B) From the front-plank position, raise your left hand off the floor and roatate your body 90 degrees so that your chest is facing to the left. Reach your left hand straight out at a 90 degree angle to your torso and stack your left foot on top of your right. Keep your entire body in a straight line by contracting your abs, lower back and glutes.
(C) Reverse the rotation and return to the front plank position. Then rotate to our right side and position yourself according to the same principles as on right side plank.
