After the birth of my second child my weight had peaked at 235 lbs. I had been overweight for as long as I could remember and spent my late 20s as an obese person. I was unhappy and unhealthy. When my daughter was born I knew something had to change. I had always known that I wanted to instill values of self esteem and self love in my children, especially my daughter but knew that I couldn’t talk the talk if I didn’t walk the walk. I truly believe that how we look on the outside is a reflection of how we feel about ourselves on the inside. Through proper nutrition, fitness, and support I lost 95 lbs and became the person I am truly meant to be. It wasn’t the weight loss that allowed me to love myself; it was loving myself and finally believing that I am worth taking care of, that allowed me to lose the weight.
I am so excited for the opportunity to provide you with the support and guidance to help you reach your personal goals. Whether you want to improve your fitness level or lose weight, we will work together so you can become the person you are truly meant to be.

I was very fortunate to grow up in a family that encouraged a healthy, active lifestyle. But after having two children, I struggled to find balance in family, self and exercise. After becoming a participant in different fitness programs, including boot camps, I was so excited about the changes I saw in my own body and how I felt, that I decided to become a personal trainer to help others reach their goals. Becoming active again helped me find a new energy and enjoyment in taking time focusing on myself and how I felt, which only had positive effects in other areas of my life, especially my family.
When you feel strong and healthy on the inside, this will reflect on the outside. I’m so excited to help you work towards your personal goals to reach a healthy balance and ignite your inner fire!

I was a competitive swimmer growing up but after I quit I never really fully embraced fitness as a part of my lifestyle until recently. One day, after years without living an active lifestyle, something clicked and I knew I had to find my energy and health again. A few sessions with a personal trainer and I was hooked. After I spent a couple of years with him, I investigated boot camps and a friend recommended Fired Up Fitness.Again, I was hooked. It fit my personality perfectly – work hard, play hard. I loved the energy of the classes and decided to pursue personal training myself. I am excited to be a part of this company and look forward to promoting fitness and healthy living in others!

I have a confession to make: I am a runner – it is my “exercise passion”. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to feel the exhilaration of crossing the finish line at a few full marathons and a number of half marathons. This passion, however, has not been without challenges, and I found myself on my Athletic Therapist’s table many times with injuries primarily due to strength imbalances. Despite the fantastic support and rehabilitation programs I received, I was not motivated to do this work on my own.
I joined a boot camp class in my neighborhood in 2008, and in a short time started to experience the positive difference in my functional strength and performance. I discovered Fired Up Fitness in 2009, and have found that the variety, challenge and balance that the trainers bring to the classes has made all of the difference to my total body strength and flexibility. I am a stronger runner today than I was before I started, and I now get to spend more time being active and less time nursing injuries.
Recognizing the difference that this way of conditioning made for my physical health, I became certified as a Personal Training Specialist with hope that I could help others to “cross their own personal finish line” towards a healthy lifestyle. I am thrilled to be a trainer with Fired Up Fitness, and I look forward to working out with you soon!

I love food. I love to cook. I grew up eating fresh, whole food, and healthy choices were the only option. In my teen years and 20’s, I ate quite poorly. A lot of fast foods, processed foods and restaurant meals. Having a family changed everything for me – I was at home and able to rediscover my love of cooking. I have always struggled with finding the right foods that could sustain my energy. After my second son was born, I met a naturopathic doctor who got me on track with eating the right foods and learning how the foods that I put in my body could affect my daily life so dramatically. When I found the holistic nutritionist program, I knew it was a perfect fit for how I could help others. When I complete my program as a registered holistic nutritionist in winter 2013, I look forward to helping others meet their goals and overcome health concerns through proper nutrition.
